Hello, all! Well, as most of you know, Mike and I have been searching for a home for our little family for the past 2 months or so. We must have walked through every house Eau Claire had to offer... and yet remained stubbornly unimpressed (and un-housed). Until we saw this beauty:
Last Wednesday, we stepped inside this house for the first time and Fell. In. Love. The whole thing was just so perfectly perfect for us that we were sure there was a catch. Turns out, there was. There was an offer due on it that very night from some misguided souls who thought this house, OUR house, was for them. Fools! Mike and I did some uncharacteristically quick decision making, talked to Mike's Dad, talked to our realtor, talked to our cats, and decided to go after the house. This was war. No way was some other family going to be living in our house.
We took deep breaths, crossed our fingers, and put in an offer on Thursday at 4pm. Thanks to some good advice from Mike's Dad (Jerry) we managed to put together an offer they couldn't refuse, and blew the competition out of the water. We got THE call Thursday at 8pm from our realtor. (Only 4 hours after we made the offer!) That fabulous house in the picture up there now belongs to us... or it will on April 14 (our closing date). I can't tell you what a relief it is to know that we now have a place to keep our kid when he/she finally comes along. Whew!
Now... if only we had some furniture...
