Hello all. I’m posting this via a third party, because our internet: she done broke. So…keep on reading and keep on commenting. Just, well, just don’t be looking for an immediate response from me. Sorry. I’m ever so sorry. And I promise whenever we figure out which combination of wires, key commands, and dance moves our internet connection likes best, I’ll be back. Don’t have too much fun without me.
Anyhoo. On to the posting:
We have a sick kid at home. Poor thing. She coughs; and she snots; and she really, really, can’t sleep. If it weren’t for the lack of any kind of fever (so far), I’d really be worried. So there’s that. But her poor little voice is hoarse from all the coughing, and her nose and eyes are perpetually runny. Needless to say, I think we won’t be going to Story Time this week, which will be heartbreaking for Eva (and kind of me, too). Maybe I’ll blow some bubbles for her, though my one little bubble wand will probably be a letdown after the Spectacular Bubble Machine of Story Time.
Sorry. Where was I?
Lately, Eva’s been asking to listen to the Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack (Remember that movie? It’s a good one.), and she particularly likes the song “Keep on the Sunny Side.” Which all adds up to the fact that I have a sick toddler shuffling around the house, singing in her little hoarse voice, “Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side.” Which just seems so sad, somehow.
Poor baby.
