You didn't think we forgot, did you? To make a video for Sully's first EVER day of school, just like we did for his sister? I mean, sure. By this point in Eva's school career, I had written about 26 in-depth posts about Mah Baybeee! and how completely unfair it is that Time Passes So Quickly! and all My Feeeelings!
I will give you that. There's been total unequal treatment for poor Sully here on Bellyville. And much general ball dropping on my part. But I promise! In real, actual, here-in-our-house life, the boy has recieved so, so much fawning over, it's ridiculous. He's been well and properly celebrated for being old enough to go to school. I swear. It's just that part about recording it here for prosperity, his grandmas, and my future sentimental self that I've been struggling with.
Perhaps it's because he's been completely rocking school. I prepared myself for some last minute tears and clinging from Sully...but instead, he marched right into his classroom on the first day and I HAD TO CALL HIM BACK TO HUG HIS POOR MOTHER. (Which, by the way, is not easy to do when you're trying to hold in your own tears. You know, to be strong for the kid and all.) He just...walked in. As he has every day since--some days he even forgets himself and runs!
Geez kid. Miss me a little, ok? I'm glad you're all well-adjusted and ready to take on the world and stuff. And you being excited to go to school each day does make it a slight (huge) bit easier for me to let you go. But come on! Maybe you can squeeze out just one little half-tear for Mama? Or come back for a big, reassuring bear hug before you go skipping off?
Because our baby boy now goes to school each day, and that's just not an easy transition for this mama to make...which is why I would never, ever let us forget to make this video. You're welcome, future self.
Enjoy, folks!
