Lately, one of Sully's favorite "works" to do at school involves cutting a hunk of cardboard with a little saw. He chooses this work at least 3 times a week, which means he's been bringing home little bags of his cut up cardboard pieces...and I've been struggling a little with what to do with them all (recycling them is NOT an option, says Sully;) For a while, I had him gluing them together in little stacks to make buildings for a small city, but he very quickly became frustrated with glue that never seemed to dry fast enough.
So this weekend I broke out the hot glue gun!
I gave the kiddos a quick safety lesson, and they were off and running, covering the table with sculpture after sculpture, using Sully's cardboard pieces and mixing in other things from our stash (craft sticks, tubes, feathers, googly eyes, etc.). Sure, we had a couple (very) minor burns, but the kids didn't let that stop them--they dove right back in and used up every piece of cardboard Sully had!
So. Can you guess what he's brought home from school every day this week?
Yep. And Sully's cities are much, much taller (not to mention far less frustrating) now that the glue gun is on the scene!
